Hello, I'm
Isabel Maass.
Hello, I’m Isabel — psychologist (M.Sc.), certified yoga teacher, and the voice behind Mindful Essentials.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by how our inner world shapes the way we live, love, and move through life. Over the years, this curiosity has grown into a calling: to help others reconnect with their inner voice, build emotional resilience, and develop an embodied sense of self.
With a background in psychological science and a deep commitment to mindfulness-based practices, I offer an integrative approach that bridges both Western psychology and Eastern traditions.
My work is grounded in the belief that healing doesn’t come from talking alone — it emerges from learning how to be present in your body, in this very moment.
Through one-on-one psychological counseling and embodied practices like yoga, pranayama, breathwork and meditation, I support you in navigating anxiety, overwhelm, emotional stuckness, or life transitions — gently, respectfully, and at your own pace.
I’ve lived and worked internationally, and the nomadic parts of my journey have taught me that healing isn’t tied to a place — it’s a return to presence, wherever you are.
Mindful Essentials is the essence of that return — a space where science meets soul, and where personal growth becomes a compassionate process.
Thank you for being here.

The path that brought me here
As a psychologist, I thought my training would shield me from my own struggles. After my degree I landed where I didn’t expect: disconnected, overwhelmed, stuck. What finally helped was simple—and different: coming back into my body.
My first click happened while learning to kitesurf. The moment I rode a few meters, everything narrowed to now. No spirals—just presence. I found the same presence again in yoga, which I hadn’t practiced for a long time.
Today I practice yoga, pranayama, breathwork, and meditation every day—not as add-ons, but as the ground I stand on.
What this means for you: I help you build practical, science-backed habits that calm your nervous system, clear your focus, and soften self-talk—so you can respond, not react.
I draw from a broad toolkit—tailored to the person in front of me: Yoga & breathwork, Buddhist-inspired mindfulness (MBSR/MBCT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and systemic approaches. I care about making these practices clear, accessible, and careful—you shouldn’t have to hit a breaking point to benefit from them.

I’m moved by curiosity—about people, about change, about what truly helps us grow. When life gets loud, I step outside. Nature gives me a quieter rhythm; the sea, especially, loosens my chest and reminds me that everything is in motion, and that change is not an enemy but something natural.
I love new angles: traveling alone where I don’t speak the language, learning a few phrases, letting a new place teach me its rhythm. When I’m inside, I’m often with a book—stories and ideas that make us a little kinder with ourselves and a little clearer with each other.
Warmth and honest connection matter to me. Yoga, meditation, and breathwork bring me back to the body — steadying my mind, sharpening my focus, letting me meet the day with both clarity and softness. I’ve learned that growth often begins at the edge of comfort: on a motorcycle, where freedom always asks for a touch of courage, or in the quiet of practices that invite me to stay present with whatever arises.
What I cherish most are the ordinary moments that hold a day together: a real conversation that lingers, sunlight on the kitchen table, the quiet after a swim. Simple things that add up, and point me back to what’s essential.
